# Queensland NCP senator Glenister Sheil was announced as the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs in the new 28-man ministry on 19 December 1977. His appointment was cancelled two days later, before he could be sworn in, following controversial comments he made on apartheid, South Africa and Rhodesia.
