Every voter should be aware that The Greens policy principles and goals include destruction of farming and agriculture – potentially destroying rural and regional Australia, The Nationals’ Senator for NSW, Fiona Nash said today.

“People should look very carefully at The Greens policies,” Senator Nash said.

“Do not be fooled into thinking The Greens are the warm and fuzzy party that will save the planet through biological diversity and ecological integrity.”

The Greens policies include:

• Wanting an end to flood irrigation.
• No new construction of bores.
• Banning the construction of new dams or augmentation of existing dams.
• Discouraging large scale farming practices.
• The introduction of death duties.
• Control of feral animals through non-lethal methods.

To add to these anti-agriculture policies the Leader of The Greens, Bob Brown, has stated that they want agriculture to be included in an ETS.

“If The Greens gain balance they will effectively be running the country. Make no mistake, if The Greens get that balance of power these policies are what the regions will get,” Senator Nash concluded.
